OSERI AND CAROLINE
Produced with support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund through the South West Peak Landscape Partnership, Oseri and Caroline is an extensive research study of Traveller heritage in the South West Peak Park area of the Peak District.
The project started as a result of Amanda's family history research in the area. We realised that although almost forgotten, the area has a long and rich association with Travellers, mostly Romany Gypsy families.
After nearly 12 months researching documents, speaking with the area's residents and Travellers whose ancestors travelled through the area, we are now beginning to build up a substantial archive of information. The archive makes up the contents of a dedicated website:
